How to Teach Phonics like a Pro in 10 weeks
Everything you need to know about phonics
I had been a working mother of three children and understand the difficulty of spending quality time with our own children. I like to share my P.P.P method to help working parents who like to spend quality time with their children and helping them them to read (using phonics principles) at the same time. The P.P.P method looks at:
Passion - What you and you children enjoy doing
Pragmatism - What you can realistically handle and do
Possibilities - What other things you, together with your children and family can enjoy doing together
Week 2: The letters and sounds of the 26 Letters in the English alphabet.
Week 3: How to build a strong listening and speaking environment.
Week 4: Decode "cvc" words and how to use a systematic reading list to evaluate the progress.
Week 5: Articulate the groups of letters (digraphs & trigraphs) that also represent the sounds of the spoken language.
Week 6: More activities and techniques to teach phonics.
Week 7: High frequency words and how to teach them.
Week 8: Frequently asked questions
I have also made available many worksheets, mnemonics and lyrics of songs that you can use easily as you interact and play with your children. These resources will also help your children remember and reinforce what they have learned. This small investment in time and effort will certainly have a great lifetime impact on you and your children.

I am an edu-preneur - teacher, head of department, principal as well as subject matter expert and project manger to make multimedia and e-learning content for Ministry of Education internationally and Singapore. I have in-depth understanding of the various education segments in Singapore and have worked and travelled to work with different learning communities in different countries.
I enjoy connecting visual arts ideas to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) so as to develop future-ready skills. Currently, I am looking at ways to create content that supports inquiry for young children, especially visual arts and the 3D printing technology. I also wrote a 4 year "Right on Top Phonics" (ROTP) program using the "Letters and Sounds (UK)" syllabus. It is written to support young students who want to learn English as foreign language. It was piloted in China, Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar.
